This
web site describes the farm model FASSET,
which can be used as a tool to evaluate consequences
of changes in regulations, management, prices and
subsidies on a range of indicators for sustainability
at the farm level, e.g. farm profitabilitiy, production,
nitrogen losses, energy consumption and pesticide use.
FASSET
ver. 1.0 can simulate arable farms and pig farms.
The
model complex consists of two parts, a planning
module, and a simulation module. The planning module is designed to carry out the optimal economic planning
for the following year using Linear Programming (LP) techniques implemented in GAMS. This plan is then
transferred to the simulation module, where the simulation of the actual production is carried out
with a daily time step. The simulation module is constructed utilising Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
